Hello! My name is Lisa Elliot, and I’m grateful to serve our community as the Clinical Director here at Abundant Hospice. My journey toward helping those facing the end of life (along with their families) began when I, too, walked alongside someone I loved who was dying. Only twenty at the time, I watched as a hospice nurse cared for my grandma. She was a remarkable woman. She served another human being in a way that has forever left an imprint on my heart and life. She cared for my grandma as if she were her own and provided a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and unwavering support to my family and me.
I started my nursing career on a medical-surgical floor. I learned much in those years, but more than that, it was there that the calling on my heart to serve people in hospice care grew louder and louder. I responded to the call. While death and dying are a shared human experience, our response to extreme vulnerability often drives the journey. I desire to provide care, love, support, and a path of understanding for my patients and their families.
I am also a very proud mom of two wonderful growing boys. Evenings and weekends are filled by schoolwork, rugby, football, and grocery shopping (of course). I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside exceptional people who, like me, are working to leave a positive imprint on our patients, their families, and our hospice community.
